Cet air là

This is a song that i truly adore, i find myself singing it sometimes as i walk along the street.Let's start with France Gall's version.(Note to self: Love that Gilbert Becaud poster, can i have it?!).

France Gall Rules! Okay, now this is April March's version, it's someone's homemade video, (so thank you Someone!) i have not master the art of posting Mp3 files yet, but i will get down to it.

And Now, Julien Doré,who has a gift to make songs he covers sound so simply beautiful.

Of course this song is about Love, what did you expect, it's French!!

Kooks

Will you stay in our Lovers' Story
If you stay you won't be sorry
'Cause we believe in you
Soon you'll grow so take a chance
With a couple of Kooks
Hung up on romancing

We bought a lot of things
to keep you warm and dry
And a funny old crib on which the paint won't dry
I bought you a pair of shoes
A trumpet you can blow
And a book of rules
On what to say to people
when they pick on you
'Cause if you stay with us you're gonna be pretty Kookie too

And if you ever have to go to school
Remember how they messed up
this old fool
Don't pick fights with the bullies
or the cads
'Cause I'm not much cop at punching other people's Dads
And if the homework brings you down
Then we'll throw it on the fire
And take the car downtown.

Only The Thin White Duke could make a song that sums up J.B, our Friends and little ol' me .

That's the way you do it

Photobucket

Hard rocking cover of that Dire Straits song, 'Money For Nothing' by Royal Trux. This was a DJ staple of mine for years, might have to start dropping it in again :) Jennifer's voice is crazy here, sounds like she is vomiting as she 'sings'.

This is Hardcore

You are hardcore, you make me hard.
You name the drama and I'll play the part.
It seems I saw you in some teenage wet dream.
I like your get up if you know what I mean.
I want it bad. I want it now.
Oh can't you see I'm ready now.
I've seen all the pictures,
I've studied them forever.
I wanna make a movie so let's star in it
together.
Don't make a move 'til I say, "Action."
Oh, here comes the Hardcore life.
Put your money where your mouth is tonight.
Leave your make-up on & I'll leave on the light.
Come over here babe & talk in the mic. Oh yeah I hear you now.
It's gonna be one hell of a night.
You can't be a spectator. Oh no.
You got to take these dreams & make them whole.
Oh this is Hardcore -
there is no way back for you.
Oh this is Hardcore -
this is me on top of you &
I can't believe that it took me this long. That it took me this long.

This is the eye of the storm.
It's what men in stained raincoats pay for but in here it is pure.
Yeah. This is the end of the line.
I've seen the storyline played out so many times before.
Oh that goes in there.
Then that goes in there.
Then that goes in there.
Then that goes in there. & then it's over. Oh, what a hell of a show
but what I want to know:
what exactly do you do for an encore? 'Cos this is Hardcore.

Need i say more ?

I'm getting away, escaping today

Brilliant disco / new wave crossover by the Nick Straker Band. A song about walking in the park to escape all your troubles. It fixes everything don't you know.... well, if you have this on your headphones. Love it.

And the whole world dragged us down...

The House of Love - such an under-rated band, and one I will post more of in the future. They were on Creation Records (JAMC, MBV, Slowdive etc) and produced beautiful, sad pop records with swirling guitars and a dark undercurrent. 'Christine' is one of my favourites, I like the way the mood of the song switches back and forth between uplifting pop and dark psychedelia. Perfect soundtrack for 'morning-after' shame, sat in your room wracked with guilt and embarassment, or just when you miss someone, or regret something.

Dick Dale and his Deltones

Right now I am obsessed with Dick Dale and His Deltones. It's pure dirt- just messy, raw, brilliant, sexy rock n roll surf music.

LIAR

There are some days, when you think so many people are quiet full of themselves, you wished that they would stop to take each other for granted, truly be in the moment, alive, daring, honest and in the habit to be respectful toward each other. Then you listen to The Rollins Band, fronted by none other than the Fucking Brilliant Henry Rollins ( In case you didn't know.), then you watch the " Liar" Video and you laugh....but really, it's not funny.

New York New York

I was around 8 years old the first time i encounter the force of nature that is Nina Hagen, she was wearing a tinsel disco wig, striped black and yellow footless tights and that superb expressive face, i couldn't take my eyes off the T.V screen, then she started singing New York, New York. My view and taste about music where never the same after that. Nina Hagen is the definition of what it means to be unique, creative and god damned talented. she stills inspires me greatly today and i urge anyone who see themselves as open minded individuals when it regards music to get some of her stuff. Anyhow there definitely will be more of Nina's songs coming along the way.
